Delight as Tara Roche crowned Rose of Kilkenny

There were scenes of delight as Callan girl Tara Roche was crowned the Rose of Kilkenny at the Ormonde Hotel in Kilkenny City last night.

A veterinary nurse, Tara has studied in Letterkenny and abroad, and works at Callan Veterinary Hospital, which sponsored her.

An evening of glamour and entertainment saw her take the coveted sash, after what must have been a difficult choice for the judges, given the wonderful Rose applicants who took part.

Tara will now represent her county at the Rose of Tralee in August, along with winning an array of prizes last night. Local Roses have enjoyed weeks of different events and experiences, and great fun around the county.
