Young Irelands (Gowran) GAA club held a lively annual meeting, and ambitious plans were spelled out to members for the 2013 season. Out-going chairman, Denis Quinlan thanked Farm and Industrial and Rednut for their much appreciated sponsorship.
Treasurer Patrick Farrell reported that the club enjoyed a very fruitful year on this front, with the Family Fun Day, Scrap Collection and Stook 10 road race hugely succcessful events.
Secretary Eddie Power complimented teams on on their determined performances and pointed out that everyone was delighted that former Kilkenny star, D.J. Carey has agreed to manage the intermediate hurling team again this season. He also wished former chairman, Willie Delaney, the very best.
Chairman Denis Quinlan stepped down after six in office. He was showered with praise from all quarters for his tireless work and dedication to the club over the years.
