Kilkenny manager Brian Cody, rugby legend John ‘The Bull’ Hayes, Olympic boxer Darren O’ Neill, and celebrated horse trainer Jim Bolger are just some of the sports stars who will be in Kilkenny this week for a live evening of stories and chat.

The household names will be joined by other notable athletes including Irish and Munster rugby star Mick Galwey, Clare manager Ger Loughnane, former Meath footballer and manager Sean Boylan, and Cork hurling legend Thomas Mulcathy. Members of the audience will be encouraged to partake in a questions and answers session with the stars who will be guided through the evening by Des Cahill of RTE Sport.

ConnectIreland will be filming and speaking to a number of the sports stars in Kilkenny as part of an entertaining fundraising event in aid of James Stephens GAA Club. ConnectIreland will be encouraging the nationally-recognised sporting heroes to use their connections abroad to create jobs at home.

ConnectIreland will also speak to the athletes at a pre-event dinner for the guests at Langton’s Tea Rooms in Kilkenny prior to the main event at Cillin Hill. The sports stars will be shown a short promotional film about ConnectIreland, following which they will be asked about their connections abroad in a bid to entice them to think about who they know and to introduce Ireland if they know of any company considering expansion abroad.

ConnectIreland is part of a government initiative whereby anyone who introduces a company to Ireland which creates jobs, will be offered a reward of between €4,500 and €150,000. The reward can be kept for personal use or can be offered to a charity of choice or a sporting club of choice.

James Stephens GAA Club hosts ‘A Night with the Stars’ this Friday evening, November 16, in Cillin Hill. For tickets, contact the club.

Doors open at 7pm, and tickets are €25. For more information, see www.connectireland.com.
